Oh, HelloGiggles!

HelloGiggles is awesome.  Like, super awesome.  This is what they're about:

 Founded by actress/musician Zooey Deschanel, producer Sophia Rossi and writer/Internet Sensation Molly
McAleer, hellogiggles.com is the ultimate entertainment destination for smart, independent and creative females. Everything hosted on the site will be lady-friendly, so visitors need not worry about finding the standard Boys Club content that makes many entertainment sites unappealing to so many of us.

I mean, who doesn't love literally everything Zooey Deschanel does?  I know I do.  The girl could vomit scorpions and I would think its cute.  Go there and be ready to laugh (ummm....or giggle).

I've been through the desert

I was in the desert for the first time in my life yesterday.  The Valley of Fire, to be more specific.  While I sweated my lady-parts-equivalent-to-balls off, I have to admit, it was quite an adventure.

Here is me getting ready to touch a cactus.  First I had to make sure I wasn't stepping on any scorpions or snakes.

And finally, the proud moment.  My very first cactus touching experience.  You can tell how excited I was by the look on my face.  Sheer exciting excited excitement.

{ penelope days }

Most days my sassy Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Penelope, follows me around the house whining that she wants to go for a ride, or outside, or for a walk, or to play catch, or SOMETHING.  This girl is a whore for attention.  But this morning has been so peaceful because, for once, Penelope is actually tired.  I took this picture to document the occasion.

And yes, that is a balled up pair of my socks she's napping with.  She steals them from my laundry basket when I'm not looking.  Silly puppy.

{ introducing magic johnson }

This is where we found our tortoise, Magic Johnson, the other day.  She’s just chillin’ puppy style in Penelope’s dog bed.  She may basically carry a fifteen pound rock on her back, but she’s still a creature of comfort.

{ gonna look like a smarty pants }

I just bought a pair of glasses from Warby Parker.  Man, do they know how to make glasses buying an adventure.  I love their home try-on program. I got to pick out five pairs of glasses to have delivered to my home for free!  I chose the Wiloughby frame in striped chestnut, because they are cute without looking too hipster-ish.  Whaddaya think?

also, if you care about helping other people, you might be interested in the fact that for every pair of glasses you buy, warby parker donates a pair to someone in need.

Also, if you like being loved, you'll appreciate the sweet messages they email you.  Take this one, for instance:

Thank you. We love you, Katie. We really do.

I don't mean to come off as an advertisement for this company.  I'm just a fan tellin' ya how much I like their product.

{ i want to meet... }

...Peter Pan.  If a strange boy ever flies into my bedroom window, I'll probably just go with him.

Shoot, I should probably go take my screen out right now, just in case.

{ unemployed. womp womp }

Being unemployed is weird. And kinda fantastic. I'm trying to not let myself get used to this.

There are only 3 things in life I am good at: Plucking my eyebrows, Dr. Mario, and snapping. How can I capitalize on these skills...
